About Pix-O-Sphere

Welcome to Pix-O-Sphere!

For several years I navigated the internet with excitement and adventure. Logging on, for me, has been like walking into the largest library in the world, but from my desktop. After many years of cyber fun on message boards, surfing websites, social networks, blogs, photo hosting sites, etc. I became increasingly frustrated at the number of inappropriate images coming across my screen. I was finding that more often than not, other online friends felt the same frustration. One evening I was speaking to my husband about my growing concerns and I shared how I felt this frustration could be remedied. I began to share with him some ideas that had been on my mind for several years and he caught the vision!

What we wanted is a Family Friendly Photo Community, but not just another social network community. We wanted something more. A place where family friendly people from all over the world could come to and not worry about the ads or type of people they would come in contact with. We wanted a place where bloggers could come get photos for their posts and articles without fear of coming across inappropriate images in the search engine. From there, the vision kept growing. The blogosphere is a place where the bloggers communicate with one another and network together all over the globe. Yet, we knew that bloggers weren't the only ones who wanted a safer online environment. Through the hearts of our team we came to the name Pix-O-Sphere. A safe place for photos (pix) for the blogosphere... and beyond!

Here's a basic overview of what you can do on Pix-O-Sphere:

Upload photos for personal use on your blogs. How is this unique from other hosting sites? Well, because our site is family friendly and you won't find inappropriate ads here, you can upload and search for photos in the presence of your children without covering your screen to hide something from their eyes.

Share your photos with your friends so they can use them on their blogs. Why is this so special and different from other photo image sites? I'm glad you asked! Normally, a blogger would go to a mass stock photo site to get images for their blogs, but here you can use photos from your friends. Your friends also benefit because their photo is seen on your blog. This enhances the networking of other family friendly bloggers and photographers. A win-win situation. When you transfer a friend's image to your account, you can use the HTML to add that image to your blog. When your readers see that image and click on it, they will be brought to the page where the image is hosted and see the credit to the original friend you got the photo from. Your Pix-O-Sphere friends will {heart} you for this!

Share your endless supply of photos from your hard drive with the blogosphere. Did you ever wonder what in the world you would ever do with all those scenic vacation photos? We did too! You can upload those good shots to your account and make the photos for public use. When a blogger needs a free photo they can use your photo and credit YOU. What happens if one of your photos really is a GREAT shot?

Sell your photos! You can also apply to be a seller with Pix-O-Sphere. Let's say you have five photos of deer from a previous vacation. Four out of five of those photos are decent, but one is fabulous! Upload the four for free use and upload the one great photo for selling. The members can either use the free ones you offered or they can choose to buy your great image. Selling photos is for Advanced Members only.

Support other families! One of our desires is to see the family friendly online community continue to help support one another. Through Pix-O-Sphere we will be networking together to provide safe photos for one another. Why buy a photo from a stock site of photographers you don't know when you can buy them from a family within our network and help support them? I am an avid hobby photographer and I have found so many talented people in our blogosphere. We want to help them by providing this family friendly environment where we can all network together to make our online communities safer for everyone.

What if I'm not a blogger? This is what my 'Mother-In-Love' asked me. If you're not a blogger, you'll still want to become a member of Pix-O-Sphere! As with many families, they don't always live near one another. Maybe grandma and grandpa live hundreds or thousands of miles away. Maybe dad is on another continent serving in the military and he isn't able to see his children growing up. Upload your family photos into private albums and invite your family members to not only view the photos, but also interact with one another by commenting below each photo.

We are growing! As with any community, it's always growing. We look forward to providing more tools and services to you through our Pix-O-Sphere network, so what you see available, now, is just the beginning! We have so much on the drawing table! Our team is continually brainstorming more ideas that we want to make available to you. This community is not just for us, it's for all of you. So, if you have an idea, we want to hear about it and bring it to the table.

Is this free? Yes, you can become a member of Pix-O-Sphere for free. With your free account you have a limited amount of space and bandwidth to host your photos. However, you can upgrade to Advanced Membership at any time.

Why would I want to upgrade? You may eventually want to upgrade for several reasons. First of all, you may want to continue to share photos with your family members and the more photos you upload the more space and bandwidth you will be using.

An upgrade will also mean that you can upload photos to sell. When you are sharing photos with the blogosphere, you will also be increasing your connections and possible buyers of your best photos. So, the more photos you share the more space and bandwidth you are using.

Our business team is continually working on making our upgrades better. Our hope is to be able to add more benefits to our Advanced Membership on a continual basis. As Pix-O-Sphere grows, we will have more opportunities to create more options for you to enjoy.

There's so much more to this, but these are the basics. So, sign up today and find out more!
